5 minute face

Whether you have kids or not everyone’s busy. Mornings are pretty chaotic around here and the minutes I have to make myself look presentable always seem to get shortened. I’ve gotten my make up routine down to 5 minutes and here’s how.

Products I use:

Shape Tape Foundation

Tarte bronzer

Bare Minerals Gen Nude Rose Palette

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

I don’t know how I started doing this but I apply my eye makeup first. That way if any eyeshadow flakes onto my cheeks or under my eyes I can clean it up without having to worry about fixing my foundation.

I have found use for all the colors in this palette but when I’m in a time crunch I apply Free Spirit all over my lid. Then I use Soul and only apply that to the crease of my lid. It’s important to take the time to blend in the crease – don’t expect to just go back and forth once you really need to do it several times. Then I apply Pixie at the brown bone to make it look completely blended.

Next I apply my mascara. In the last year I’ve been on the hunt for the best mascara and I truly believe this is it. Since mascara can be so expensive I started buying tester or travel size versions to see if I really liked the product. I’ll be upgrading to a full size tube of this soon!!

Once my eyes are complete I move to foundation. I’ve mentioned in my stories I bought this product a few months ago and I love it! I was new to liquid foundation and afraid it would feel heavy or clog my pores but this hasn’t at all! It feels light and gives me the coverage I need! I apply it with this brush but you could also use a beauty blender or even your finger.

I finish things off with a few strokes of bronzer along my cheekbone and nose. I use the color Park Ave Princess and find it flattering. I love this bronzer because there is no shimmer to it, it’s matte but still rich in color.

And that’s it! I love playing around with makeup but during the week when I’m trying to get us all out the door in the morning a routine is critical!

What’s your makeup routine? I’d love to know!

Happy Friday!
