Reindeer Cookies

Hello! We are just 11 days out until Christmas Day! This week I was watching Chicago Parent’s (@chicagoparent) instagram stories and they were featuring Sweet Mandy Bs (@sweetmandybs). It was a step by step demo on how to make reindeer cupcakes. My family is not big on cupcakes so I took the inspiration from their demo and decided to make reindeer cookies. They turned out super cute and overall I’m very pleased with them! Instructions below!

Ingredients:

  • Chocolate cookies – I followed this recipe but you can use any recipe you like.
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Nilla wafers
  • Edible google eyes
  • Pretzel twists
  • Red frosting gel
  • Black frosting gel

Directions:

Once your cookies have completely cooled frost them with the chocolate frosting.

Next place the nilla wafer on the cookie, depending on how large your cookie is place it in the center or slightly lower than the center of the cookie. You want to make sure you have enough room for the eyes and pretzels that will be placed above it.

Place two pretzels on each side of the top of the cookie for antlers.

Right above the top of the nilla wafer and below the pretzel place the googly eyes.

Use the red gel frosting to create a nose in the center of the nilla wafer.

Use the black gel frosting to create a smile under the nose on the nilla wafer. If the tip of the tube of frosting is not thin enough using a toothpick to create the smile works well.

There you have it, reindeer cookies! If you decide to make these feel free to tag me on instagram @ourdaysinthechi so I can see your creation! Happy cooking making!
