Halloween Cookies

I love baking, especially when I can incorporate a holiday theme! I wanted to share three cookies I’ve made in the past that are fun and relatively easy for Halloween!

Ghost pretzels

Ingredients: Pretzels, baking chocolate, edible googley eyes

Directions: Melt the chocolate in 30 second increments in the microwave, stirring each time. Once melted dip the pretzel in the chocolate leaving the holes in the pretzel clear. Place the eyes in two of the holes and let chocolate harden.

Peanut butter Spider Cookies

Ingredients: Peanut butter cookie for the base, Reese’s peanut butter cups, gel black icing, edible goggley eyes

Directions: Find a peanut butter cookie recipe and follow the instructions to bake. When the cookies come out of the oven let them cool a few moments and place the peanut butter cup in the center of the cookie. Make sure you let the cookies cool a few moments or the peanut butter cup will melt too much. Next put the eyes on the front of the peanut butter cup. Draw the legs on each side and let cool.

Witch Hat Cookies

Ingredients: Package of fudge striped cookies, orange frosting, Hershey’s kisses.

Directions: Remove wrappers from all the Hershey’s kisses. Flip the fudge striped cookie to the side without the stripes. Place frosting in the center and add a Hershey kiss in the center.

Let me know if you make any of the cookies by tagging me on instagram at @jessieinchicago!
