Hello! It’s hard to believe I’ll be 36 weeks tomorrow! Since this will most likely be my last pregnancy I really wanted to do a maternity photo shoot. I didn’t do one with the last two pregnancies and wanted to take some photos to always remember this time in life. Just when I was about to start looking for a photographer COVID hit and all my plans went out the window. Typically most people take these pictures around 7-8 months and as I was approaching that time I started to get really sad about not getting to be able to take these pictures when I just decided I would try without a photographer. It wasn’t perfect and I went in with low expectations but I’m so happy we did them! Here’s what I learned!

Preschool Graduation – At Home

1. Graduation Gown 2. Straight Outta Sign 3. Photo Booth Props 4. Congrats Grad Headband 5. Paper Graduation Cap

Hope you are all are staying well! It wasn’t too long ago that I didn’t understand the meaning of a preschool graduation. Honestly, it seemed a bit silly to me, making such a big deal about starting kindergarten. Then in February out of the blue I received an email from our daycare with the date and time of my daughter’s graduation along with information on the prep they would be doing for the ceremony. I immediately burst into tears. My baby, my firstborn was graduating from the place she had been since she was 4 month old and starting a brand new school. I was a mess and suddenly understood the meaning behind this milestone.

Fast forward to everything going on in the world and schools and daycares closing and we found out she will not be back in daycare for her graduation. We’ve explained the situation to her and while I think she understands it as a best as a 5 year old can it was obviously still upsetting. So, I decided to plan our own graduation.

Tie Dye with kids

It feels like you aren’t quarantining unless you’re in tie dye so I’ve been on the hunt for some tie dye pieces for awhile. A lot of what I was finding was either cropped or pretty pricey so I decided to DIY it. I also thought the girls would enjoy a project. Overall it was pretty easy and turned out really well! Here’s the materials I used (found all at Target!) and some of the things I learned!

Reindeer Cookies

Hello! We are just 11 days out until Christmas Day! This week I was watching Chicago Parent’s (@chicagoparent) instagram stories and they were featuring Sweet Mandy Bs (@sweetmandybs). It was a step by step demo on how to make reindeer cupcakes. My family is not big on cupcakes so I took the inspiration from their demo and decided to make reindeer cookies. They turned out super cute and overall I’m very pleased with them! Instructions below!

DIY Holiday Card Photos

Hi! Happy post Thanksgiving! Hope you enjoyed the holiday. Let’s talk about holiday cards, shall we? The hardest part for me is finding the right picture to include on the card. Over the years I’ve used both professional pictures and pictures I’ve taken myself. This year I decided not to use professional photos and that I would take the picture for the card myself. In this post I’m sharing a few tips on how to make this process easier and get the best shot!

DIY Snowflake Ornaments

So it’s been a minute since I’ve written a post, seems like every time I sit down to do it something distracts me or like today the pictures wouldn’t upload so it took forever. Anyways I was inspired by @herhappyhome instagram page to make these ornaments. Mine are slightly different, but that’s what I love about them, you can put your own spin on them!

Winter Toddler Birthdays

Happy March! If you have been following along on instagram you may have seen my oldest recently turned 4! I can’t believe how fast the time has flown by! We are not at the point where we are hosting birthday parties for her friends yet (sigh of relief!) but we do like to do something special as a family for the girls for their birthdays. When you have a child born in the winter you need to get a little creative when it comes to family activities! Here are a couple of things we have done in the past – at a variety of price points! While I’m linking to local spots near me I’m sure these will provide plenty ideas of similar places near you!
