St. Patrick’s Day Treat Bars

Hi!! Wow it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Life, I guess? Anyway wanted to share a super easy St. Patrick’s Day treat!

Ingredients: Box of Lucky Charms (look for the St. Patty’s day limited edition), 1 bag of marshmallows, 3 tablespoons butter

Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add in marshmallows stirring often. Once marshmallows are melted, add in Lucky Charms, stirring until combined. Press into baking dish. Tip: if you are having trouble flattening the mixture into the dish, take a piece of parchment paper and spray with cooking oil, then use that to press the mixture down. Let harden and cut into bars.

Enjoy!

Hi! Last week I stopped into Target for diapers and decided to look through the home section and was shocked to find holiday decor in the Hearth and Hand section! This is the line designed by Joanna Gaines and sold at Target. Originally a lot of it wasn’t available online but it looks like it is now! I know it’s a little early, but these items go so fast I wanted to share now!

Before I had my now 3 month old, I shared the items I was purchasing prior to her arrival. I purchased those items with the best intentions, but as we all know it’s really trial and error on what works for each baby. Now that some time has passed, I’m sharing what has actually worked for us! I really recommend if you can not taking out everything you receive or buy for a baby until they come, that way you can try the items out and see what works and return what doesn’t.

Fall Traditions – Apple Picking 2020

There’s a chill in the morning and the air is crisp. The leaves are changing and it’s starting to feel like fall in Chicago. We go apple picking as a family every year and while we’ve gone to the same orchard (read more here) for the past few years we decided to switch it up this fall. In times of Covid we wanted some where closer to home, just in case we arrived and it was too crowded or we felt uncomfortable.

You can shop the full sale here, or browse the items I found below. Most of these items are ones that I have and use or that I’ve had my eye on for awhile. Unless you’ve been living under a rock or just been off social media the past few days you probably know that the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is kicking off soon, depending one when you have access. I’ve shopped the sale in the past but to be honest, generally only by 1-2 items, I don’t do any sort of a big haul. This year I am posting simply what has caught my eye. In terms of what I’m buying, I know for sure I’m purchasing one of the items for my daughter’s birthday, but the rest…not sure yet. I enjoy looking at sales and seeing how low of a price I can get something for, so it’s fun for me to go through sales like this. Most of the time though, I just end up filling up my cart and stopping there. 🙂

My advice?

Stick to brands you know and are more on the high quality side. Unless I’m familiar with a brand or know the quality of it, I don’t usually try anything new during these type of sales.

Compare sale and after sale prices and calculate what you are truly saving. For some items, it’s less than $10.

Do your research. Check around before you buy to see if you can find the same item at a different store for a lower cost.

Hello! Incase you missed it, we welcomed our third child about two weeks ago! It’s been quite a journey already but we are so thrilled to have her. 🙂 We booked newborn photos all the way back in January, pre-pandemic. I went back and forth on whether or not we would still move forward with them but after talking to our photographer and going over all the precautions she’s was taking, as well as deciding to bring all of our own outfits, we decided to go ahead. We’ve done these photos with my two other children and the first time was insane getting out of the house, we also made it 20 minutes into the drive before realizing we forgot the diaper bag, hello first time parents, so I wanted to put together a post with some tips I’ve found helpful.
